Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
The Berean Bible Study Series (“we,” “us”), operated by Eddie Morain, runs the reading platform at readberean.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: the books are free to read without an account, we collect as little as possible, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
- Account information. If you sign in, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google — used only to identify your account.
- Your study data. When signed in, the things you create — reading progress, highlights, notes, color preferences, and (later) workbook answers — are saved to your account so they sync across your devices.
- On your device only. Preferences like theme, font size, reading position, and Bible translation are stored locally in your browser. If you’re not signed in, your highlights and notes stay on your device and are never sent to us.
- Anonymous usage analytics. We use privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Analytics) to see aggregate traffic — page views and the like. It does not use tracking cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you across other sites.
How we use it
Only to run the platform: to keep you signed in, to sync your reading and notes across your devices, and to understand overall usage so we can improve it. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information, and we do not show advertising.
Services we rely on
These providers process data on our behalf, each under its own privacy policy:
- Supabase — accounts and database (sign-in, your study data).
- Vercel — hosting and anonymous analytics.
- Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google” to sign in.
- Stripe — if you make a donation; Stripe handles the payment. We never see or store your card details.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and our analytics is cookieless.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. You can delete individual highlights and notes at any time from your notebook. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at emorain@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it.
Children
This platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll revise the date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
